Codot vs Instinct
Codot: say it, and your assistant handles it.
Codot is an AI personal assistant for iPhone, Apple Watch and the web. Tell it what's going on in plain words and it acts: creates tasks and events, moves them when plans change, breaks big goals into daily steps, remembers the people you meet, triages Gmail and Outlook with draft replies, and sends you a briefing every morning. Instinct: an AI agent that runs errands for you.
Instinct, from Spear Street Technology, is an agent you text or call that uses a phone and computer on your behalf: ordering groceries, booking travel, sending flowers. It raised at a $2.5B valuation in August 2026. As of October 2026 it's invite-only, free during beta, with no published pricing.

Codot vs Instinct AI: an agent for errands, or an assistant for your day?
I make Codot, so read this with that in mind. Instinct is invite-only and I haven't used it, so the Instinct facts here come from its website, its terms and published reporting, checked in October 2026.
Both are AI assistants you talk to, and they aim at different jobs. Instinct goes out and runs errands: its homepage says it uses a phone and computer "the same way that you do", with examples like ordering recipe ingredients, booking a train home and sending flowers. Codot runs your day. You say what's going on in plain words and it takes the action on your tasks, calendar, contacts and inbox. It's on the App Store today, and it doesn't log into websites or act on your accounts elsewhere.
What Codot handles for you
You say it, it's scheduled. "Remind me to send Dana the contract Thursday at 10" becomes a task at 10:00 with a reminder. When the plan changes, say "move it to Monday 3pm" and it moves.
Big goals become a daily plan. Tell it "I need the board deck ready by next Friday" and Codot splits the work into a slot on each day before then and puts them on your calendar.
It sorts out time zones. "Find a time Tuesday for me in Berlin, Sam in New York and the team in Singapore" comes back as one slot that fits everyone's working day.
It remembers people. "Met Marta at the logistics summit, she runs procurement at a cold-chain startup, follow up in two weeks" becomes a contact with her role and a reminder to follow up. Birthdays and cities go there too.
It triages your inbox. Connect Gmail or Outlook and Codot picks out what matters and drafts replies to the important messages, so you start from a draft instead of a blank reply.
Your morning arrives sorted. A briefing each morning lists what's due, and scheduled automations run on their own, for example a weekday 8 a.m. summary of your top tasks and the news you follow.
It's there when the thought hits. Speak from the lock-screen widget, your Apple Watch, the iPhone app or the web. It syncs with Google Calendar, tracks habits, and turns one rambling sentence into a structured note. Your data is encrypted and never sold.
Try saying this (30 seconds)
You've just walked out of a client meeting. Hold the Codot lock-screen widget and say:
"Move Thursday's call with Priya to Friday at ten, remind me Wednesday to send her the revised quote, and note that she's switching suppliers in January."
Codot moves the event, synced to Google Calendar, creates a task with a Wednesday reminder, and adds the supplier detail to Priya's contact. That's three changes from one sentence.
Instinct AI pricing vs Codot
As of October 2026:
- Instinct: no published price. It's free during the beta, and you get in with an invite from an existing member or a spot from the phone-number waitlist. A guide checked on October 6 found the sign-up form accepting numbers from 83 countries, though a spot still depends on capacity. Instinct's terms already include a fees section: prices can change "at any time" and payments are non-refundable except where the law says otherwise.
- Codot: on the App Store now with no waitlist, free for a limited time. After that, a free plan (3 daily briefings, 2 scheduled automations) or Max at $12.99/month or $99.99/year with no limits.
Instinct AI review: what it does well, and where Codot stops
Instinct does the errand itself. If you want something ordered, booked or sent without touching it, Instinct is built for that and Codot isn't: Codot won't browse websites, buy things, fill in forms or call a business. It will remind you to book the vet; you still book it. Instinct also works over text or a phone call, so there's nothing to install, and it has serious backing, with a $250M Series B at a $2.5B valuation led by Index Ventures and Benchmark. Codot runs on iPhone, Apple Watch, Android and the web.
Before you connect anything, read the terms. Instinct's current terms (revised August 26, 2026) let it use your materials to improve its services, including training AI models; opting out applies going forward, and models already trained on your data can stay in use. You appoint the service as your agent and you're responsible for what it does, and the terms say actions "may not always be reversible". An August 20 version granted a perpetual, irrevocable license to user materials; the current version no longer uses that wording.
Which one I'd pick
If what slips is your own day, meaning follow-ups, meetings that move, people you meant to call back and email you haven't answered, pick Codot. It's useful the day you install it, you don't need an invite, and you don't hand your accounts to an agent that acts on websites. If errands are what eat your week, you have an invite and you're fine with those terms, Instinct is aimed at that; I'd start it on a secondary email account.
